This part of my website is devoted to my latest project. A 1961 International B-170 3-ton truck. I bought it about 2 weeks ago and have been working on it since. I paid my neighbour $200 for it. He is the same person that gave me my A-120. I have invested about $350 more and 15 hours of time into it. I started by removint the front bumper and front clip to gain access to the motor. After the clip was off, I began to start disconnecting all of the wires and cables on the engine. It was also easy to get access to the bolts on the transmission, and the front mounts. I also took the exhaust manifolds off of the truck as well. Now it was time to pull the engine. I rented an engine hoist, and my dad and I pulled the engine out of the truck in a couple of hours, we also had to get all of the tools together in those couple of hours. After the motor was out of the B-170, we had to pull the motor out of my 1969 1100D parts truck. Click here for pics and details. When the motor was out of the 1100 D, I noticed that I had to swap the flywheel and clutch from the B-170 onto it. In the process of doing so, I dropped the flywheel on my thumb. It didn't break anything, but It sure did hurt! By this time, It was dark, and we had to retire for the night. The next morning, the engine went into the truck in about 1 hour. My dad is currently working on replacing the rotted out wiring on the truck. When I get a dry day, I will begin to start reassembling the rest of the truck, and fire up the engine. I will also try to record the sound of the sweet 345 and add it onto the site. Here are some pictures of the truck, please be patient while they are loading. |

This is the truck a couple of years ago in the winter. I was going to try and sell it for my neighbour. |
