Date: Sun Jan 23 2000 Time: 14:33:43 Title: How It All Started Story:    My First Scout II           It was study hall second period my junior year in High school. I was reading the newspaper. And found an ad for a 78 Scout II with 43,000 miles. It had a 345 , 727 3.73 R & P. , Tilt A/C, sport wheel, Roof rack, rear tire carrier.  Asking price was $1900.00, this was in 1980 it was only two years old. Need to say I cut class and drove out to take a look. The owner was not home when I got there. I hung out Until He got home.   After a brief haggle we agreed on a price. And bought it for $1800.00.           My Dad came with me to pick it up , because he could not  believe I bought a 21/2 year old truck for 1800.00.  He was impressed by my new rig and bought me my first tank of gas. He did not know that it was a 33 gallon tank!  I later sold the truck in 1984 to pay for school. I bought my second , third and forth Scouts In 1998 This was the start of my sickness that has only blossomed in to a full epidemic. Contributer:    Robert Mann
