There, sitting covered with a fresh coat of the snow that had hindered my progress in making my way to this lonely, isolated spot sat my new pride and joy. A 1967 four door pick up (with the 8-ft bed). I should qualify that. Some of it was there. Some of it I had already picked up and was in the back of my truck. Still more of it was sitting fifty some yards away, and even more pieces were scattered throughout the large shop on the property. We lovingly gathered up the pieces, picking through a seemingly endless selection of old truck parts,(Is this the drive shaft for it, or is it this one?)secured it firmly to the trailer, and slowly headed off through the slush and the snow. I'm quite pleased with the condition of the truck. Well, what pieces of the truck that I have. What rust there was has already been removed and it will require minimal bodywork. Although I have no truck bed nor do I have the original gas tanks. The motor is in my garage on a stand ready to be stripped down. I can't wait to get to it. What a beauty it's gonna be. A real head turner. Wish me luck in finding all the parts I'll need. Which, other than the above mentioned, isn't much. So that's it. My first Binder experience is just beginning. Don't you envy me? Well, maybe not. I won't even get to drive my first Binder for a long time to come. Contributer: Brad Thorpe |
