Title: Broken in the Driveway

Poster: John Buchanan

Story     I bought my 1972 scout for 400 bucks from my cousin, with a seized 345; T-18; 3.73 gears, just a tiny bit of rust on the
floor boards, and it is gold. I am proud to say that I am the second owner. My uncle gave me a 345 that he got for free. we
slaped the free motor in with a rebuilt clutch, and it ran for a year. It being my first truck, and the only one with a manual
tranny that I had ever driven, I unintentialy burned up my clutch. It four wheels great, but it is torn apart all over the
driveway and up on jack stands, needless to say Mama is mad. I just got a new clutch today, and plan to piece it back
together this week end with my Father. My dad has a '79, that will soon be sprung over, with a detroit locker for the rear and a power lock for the front. My uncle has a sprung over '71 scoutII with a detroit locker in the rear, and a welded track lock "lincoln locker" in the front. He has done rubicon twice and the hammer trails, and the ershim, with the same lincoln locker. I come from a long line of IH owners, we love our scouts.
